2. Our Activity Director - Lei Kang, her husband (Alex Yu), suddenly passed away last week. We are all saddened by the news. She has 3 young children (12, 10 and an 18-month old). We also setup a donation account to help the family (see follow information). 3. Per some parents’ suggestion, PTA has added food booths from vendors to provide traditional Chinese food for our Festival. Sign up for the school wide Poetry Recitation Contest is starting this week. For the Poetry Recitation Contest, we are following the guidelines set forth by the Southern California Council of Chinese Schools (SCCCS). This is a great opportunity for the students to experience the beauty of one of the most important component of the Chinese culture. Poetry has consistently been held in extremely high regard in Chinese culture for across more than two millennia, thus making it potentially an interesting and pleasurable object of study. Please ask your teacher for a signup form. 詩詞朗誦比賽本星期開始報名。這個比賽我們是遵照南加州中文學校聯合會的規定來進行。這是一個讓學生體驗到中文之美的好機會。在超過兩千年以上的中國文化裏，詩詞一直被認為是極高等級的文學，因而使它成為一個有趣的研究主題。請向你的老師領取申請表格。

To celebrate the Chinese New Year and SDCA 25th Anniversary on 02/24/13, the Administration and Board of Directors have planned the following activities:

1. Student performances and classroom work displays.
2. School will provide free bento boxes to students, teachers and staffs. Parents can order extra bento box for $10/per box on or before 02/03/13 thru your Room Representative. At door order will be $15/per box. Order form will be available and email to your Room Representative on 01/19 (this Saturday). One order form per family. 3. Volunteers will set up Game booths and Culture booths for kids to play. Each student gets 8 free game-only tickets to play games. Additional game, drink and food ticket will be $1/each and will be on sale at the Office on 01/27.
4. Drink booths (Boba milk tea & Jamba Juice, 3$) will be available on site.
5. Each family will get a raffle ticket to win prizes (ex. Legoland tickets, Charger Game admission ticket, Air & Space Museum tickets, and etc.) at the end of festival. You will have to present to receive the prize. Big “THANK YOU” to those parents who donated items toward our Raffle!

We want to make that day a memorable day for all our kids. So if you like to host a Game Booth, or want to donate items toward our raffle, please contact PTA Director at sdcapta@gmail.com. Thank you!

Dear Parents:

To celebrate the Chinese New Year and SDCA 25th Anniversary on 02/24/13, the Administration and Board of Directors have planned the following activities:

1. Student performances and classroom work displays.
2. School will provide free bento boxes to students, teachers and staffs. Parents can order extra bento box for $10/per box on or before 02/03/13 thru your Room Representative. At door order will be $15/per box. Order form will be available and email to your Room Representative on 01/19 (next Saturday). One order form per family. The deadline to turn in the pre-event order form and payment is 02/03/13.
3. Volunteers will set up Game booths and Culture booths for kids to play. Each student gets 8 free tickets to play. Additional game ticket will be $0.50/each and will be on sale at the Office on 01/27.
4. Drink booths (Boba milk tea & Jamba Juice) will be available on site.
5. Each student will get a raffle ticket to win prizes (ex. Legoland tickets, Charger Game admission ticket, Air & Space Museum tickets, and etc.) at the end of festival. You will have to present to receive the prize. Big “THANK YOU” to those parents who donated items toward our Raffle!

We want to make that day a memorable day for all our kids. So if you like to host a Game Booth, or want to donate items toward our raffle, please contact PTA Director at sdcapta@gmail.com. We like to hear your suggestion. Thank you!

我們將在2月24日舉辦中國新年園遊會和SDCA二十五週年慶, 教務處和理事會計畫了下列活動：

2. 學校將提供免費的便當給學生，教師和教務人員。家長可以預先訂購額外的便當, 2月3日之前訂購是$10/一個便當，當日購買是一個$15。訂購表格將在1月19日（下週六）email 給你的班代表。每個家庭一張訂購單。訂購截止日期是2月3日。
3. 當天我們的義工將設立遊戲攤位和文化攤位供孩子們參與。每個學生將得到八張免費的遊戲票。額外的遊戲票將在1月27日於辦公室發售。每張$0.50 美元。
4. 當天將設立飲料攤位（波霸奶茶和Jamba Juice）。
5. 每個學生都​​將得到一個免費的抽獎券，可以在活動結束前贏取獎品（例如, 樂高公園門票，Charger 比賽入場券，航空航天博物館門票, 等等）。你必須當場出席領取獎品。我們非常感謝那些捐贈物品來贊助我們的抽獎活動的家長們！

This year is a special 25th Year Anniversary for SDCA. Cover art contest is a great activity to provide a channel for our students to show their artistic interests and talents. All entries will be included in the Yearbook, along with student name and class number. Additionally, all participants will receive a surprise reward at the end of the school year. 1. The scrip team will be having their monthly scrip sale in the office from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm this Sunday (01/13/2013). 禮卷組這個星期日下午1:30到4:00 在學校辦公室販售禮卷。

2. Service Fee refund ($60) will be available this Sunday. Please remember to pick up your refund if you had fulfilled your duty of this year. 家長服務退費(60元) 將於本週日發放退費。如果您已經完成您今年的義工工作， 請記得來辦公室領取你的退費。
