2. “2013 Overseas Youth English Teaching Volunteer Service Program in Taiwan” has started application process on 02/01. It plans to recruit overseas Chinese youth (aged 17 to 27-year-old) to participate in volunteer English teaching in Taiwan this summer. Application deadline is 02/28. 1. To ensure everyone has a great fun time, please look out and keep your own children to your side the whole time. 請所有家長在孩子玩遊戲還是吃東西時，看顧自己的孩子，以確保安全。
2. Still like to remind everyone to respect all parking lot rules. There’s absolutely NO PARKING at white, yellow, blue, and red zone!! Please find a parking space to park your car. 1. Our Chinese New Year Festival & SDCA 25th Anniversary Celebration will be on this Sunday (from 1:45pm – 4:15pm). We have arranged several performances, delicious food and game booths for our students and family. Please bring your friends or neighbors to join us to celebrate the Year of Snake. 本年度的中國新年園遊會暨中華學苑二十五週年慶將在本星期日下午 1:45到 4:15舉行，我們安排了精彩的舞獅和班級表演，美味的食物以及好玩的遊戲給大家同樂，讓您感受濃濃的過年氣氛，請記得邀請您的親朋好友和鄰居一起來共賀蛇年新春佳節！
2. Festival ticket (food/drink/game/goods) is $1/each (red color ticket). 園遊會票券（食物/飲料/遊戲/商品）每張 $1 (紅色票)。
3. BOD and PTA have decided to add food booths to provide traditional Chinese food for our Festival. So far, we will have food booths for “Boba milk tea, Jumba Juice, sticky rice, green bean cakes, mochi, Chinese fried noodles, tea-leaves eggs ...... “. We are having a SDCA 25th Anniversary Logo Design Contest to choose the winning logo that will be printed on these special gift items. The design guidelines and detail information for this contest is posted at our website http://sandiegochineseschool.com/new/25th%20anniversary%20Logo%20Design%20Contest_20120926.pdf . 1. Next Week, 10/21, has first semester mid-term exam. Parents please remind your child to prepare for the exam. 下週（10/21）有上學期的期中考，請家長們要督促孩子們溫習功課。
2. We received a complaint from La Jolla Country Day School. Our students repeatedly damaged project work in a classroom. Parents, please remind your child the importance of respecting other people’s work. 我們收到LJCDS的投訴。我們的學生多次損壞某一間教室內學生的作業設計。家長們，請提醒您的孩子尊重其他人的工作的重要性。
To prevent this from happening again, we are enforcing the following rules. 為了避免這種情況再次發生，我們將加強實施以下規則：
- Do not enter the classroom before the teacher does. 老師未進教室之前不可進入教室。
- Students shall not stay in the classroom during recess. Instead, students are encouraged to relax, and play in the playground. 學生下課時不得滯留在教室。鼓勵學生休息時間應到操場上做適當室外活動。

1. Teacher Assistants Needed - we are looking for responsible 9th - 12th graders who are willing to volunteer 3 1/2 hours on Sunday afternoons. Chinese speaking applicants are preferred. 2. We will have Year 2012 Double-Ten Flag Ceremony on 10/07. School starts at 1pm that day. Flag Raising Ceremony will be held at Amphitheater at 1:30pm. Parents are welcome. All students are required to wear school t-shirt and attend the ceremony. School t-shirts will be distributed to students before the ceremony by their teachers. Snacks and drinks will be provided on site. If your child has any food allergy concerns, we recommend that you stay with your child until classes are back in session, because our parent volunteers will not be able to check each student for allergy concerns. 3. PTA Meeting will be on 10/07 (Week 5) at 3:00pm in Multi-Purpose Room (Community Hall). Board of Directors and PTA will discuss Year2012 school-wide activities and events. Room Parents Meeting will be hold after PTA Meeting. Please make sure at least one representative of your class attends the meetings.

4. On 10/7 (Week 5), all credit class students will have to attend the Double-Ten Celebration in Poway Performing Art Center after classes are over. PTA and volunteer mom Judy Tsui have arranged to have bento service delivered to school at around 4:30pm that day for your convenience. Please contact your Room moms if you are interested in this service. The pork chop bento is $8 /per box. 1. Our annual Chinese New Year Festival will be on 01/29/2012. Seating starts at 1:30pm, and the programs start at 1:45pm. There will be festive lion dance, student performances, authentic and delicious food, game booths, and fabulous silent auction. Let’s ring in the new year together. Please bring your families, friends and neighbors to join us to celebrate the Year of Dragon. 1. Our annual Chinese New Year Festival will be on 01/29/2012. Seating starts at 1:30pm, and the programs start at 1:45pm. There will be festive lion dance, student performances, authentic and delicious food, game booths, and fabulous silent auction. Let’s ring in the new year together. We are planning our future seminars and would like parents specialized in child psychology or parenting to be on our discussion panel. Activities 活動組
Tai Chi class will start on October 23, 2011 from 3:30 to 4:30pm. The 10 week session will run from October 23, 2011 to January 22, 2012. This class will be taught by Master Henry Cheng. Master Henry has been teaching and conducting seminars in the San Diego community since 1980 and received the Asian Heritage Awards in 2007 in the category of Medicine and Health. We are honored to have him teaching our Tai Chi classes. Please register with the front office prior to class (click http://www.sandiegochineseschool.com/new/Tai-Chi%20class%20registration%20form_2011.pdf for registration form). We need a minimum of 8 participants to start the class. Registration fee is $150 for 10 classes. Each additional family member receives 15% discount.
