Volunteers Appreciation Party with karaoke. Party time, parents!!  We will have our volunteer appreciation party this Sunday at 2:00pm outside the community hall.  All parents who have served for our school are welcome to join in the fun. PTA will prepare yummy snacks and desserts for the party as well as giving recognition to all the room parents and chairperson. There will be karaoke singing time while you eat and chat!!  中華學苑期末義工音樂同樂會  家長們!! 派對的時間終於又要到了，家長當然是要用更多的歡樂來結束這一學期啦! 理事會與各義工組的組長們誠摯的邀請您一起來參加趴踢馬拉松，咱們不樂不歸唷!   時間是4/26 從下午2pm 到 4pm；地點在community hall (potluck 在室外)

1843年4月5日《香港憲章》簽署，正式宣佈香港為英國的殖民地 - 1842年(清道光二十二年)中英《南京條約》規定割讓香港給英國.1843年(清道光二十三年)4月5日，英國維多利亞女王簽署《香港憲章》，正式宣佈香港為英國的殖民地，設立香港總督職位，委派侵華英軍全權代表璞鼎查為首任香港總督兼統帥。6月，中英《南京條約》在港換文，璞鼎查立即宣誓就職，宣佈香港為英國殖民地。 In 1839, the refusal of Qing authorities to support opium imports caused the outbreak of the First Opium War between the British Empire and the Qing Empire. In 1842, Hong Kong Island was formally ceded in perpetuity to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under the Treaty of Nanking. On April 5, 1843 Queen Victoria signed the Hong Kong Charter and the British officially established Hong Kong as its Crown colony.

1975年4月5日 蔣介石病逝 - 蔣介石，1887年10月31日出生於浙江奉化縣。名中正，字介石，浙江奉化人。1975年4月5日，中國國民黨總裁、中華民國總統蔣介石在台北市郊陽明山官邸病逝，享年88歲。國民黨當政時期的黨、政、軍主要領導人。1908年留學日本並加入同盟會，1924年回國後任黃埔軍校校長，後兼任國民革命軍第1軍軍長。1948年召開國民代表大會，蔣介石當選中華民國總統，1949年1月21日宣佈引退。1950年3月1日，蔣介石復任中華民國總統。此後連任第二屆至第五屆總統。 Chiang Kai-shek (October 31, 1887 – April 5, 1975) was a Chinese political and military leader who served as the leader of the Republic of China between 1928 and 1975. He is known by his given name Chiang Chung-cheng. Chiang was an influential member of the Kuomintang (KMT), the Chinese Nationalist Party, and was a close ally of Sun Yat-sen. He became the Commandant of the Kuomintang's Whampoa Military Academy and took Sun's place as leader of the KMT when Sun died in 1925. In 1926, Chiang led the Northern Expedition to unify the country, becoming China's nominal leader. He served as Chairman of the National Military Council of the Nationalist government of the Republic of China (ROC) from 1928 to 1948. Chiang led China in the Second Sino-Japanese War (the Chinese theater of World War II), consolidating power from the party's former regional warlords. Unlike Sun Yat-sen, Chiang Kai-shek was socially conservative, promoting traditional Chinese culture in the New Life Movement and rejecting western democracy and the nationalist democratic socialism that Sun embraced in favor of an authoritarian government. After the Chinese Civil War, Chiang's government and army retreated to Taiwan, where Chiang ruled securely as President of the Republic of China and General of the Kuomintang until his death in 1975.

1928年 4月14日 揭露日本侵華野心第一人 - 1928年4月，台灣苗栗人蔡智堪以補冊工人身份赴日本，從事皇宮書籍整理工作。工作中，發現並秘密抄錄了“東方會議”的紀要文件，即田中奏折。此文件提出：欲征服世界，必先征服中國；欲征服中國，必先征服滿洲。並分數次寄回中國，交張學良轉呈國民政府，最早揭露了日本侵華的野心。Japan’s ambition to concur China was first disclosed by a Taiwanese who worked at the Japanese imperial palace in April, 1928, as document sorter. The ambitions were documented in government meeting minutes, which stated that to conquer the world, Japan must first concur China. To conquer China, Japan must first conquer Manchuria. The documents were secretly copied and sent back to Chinese government and news media.
