  1. 2012 VIRGINIA HOM FUNG MEMORIAL/YOUTH CHINESE LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP: The House of China (HOC) has awarded scholarships each year to SD County youths, 18 years of age or younger, currently enrolled in Chinese Schools in SD. There are three groups: beginning, intermediate and advanced, based on recommendations by teachers.  Essays shall be submitted in hand-written Chinese.  Please contact your teacher for more detail.   紀念馮譚珍貴女士2014年中國館中文獎學金: 聖地牙哥中國館每年春季提供獎學金給就讀本市中文學校的學生，以鼓勵十八歲以下青少年學習中文。獎學金分為初級組、中級組，和高級組三組。組別由老師推薦，最後由評委會評定。每組得獎名額三位,請家長們鼓勵貴子弟報名參加，詳情與班級老師聯絡。
  2. Sign up for the school-wide Poetry Recitation Contest has started. Please submit sign-up form to the teacher. Deadline for signing up is 2/23/14. 詩詞朗誦比賽開始報名了！請向老師索取報名表。報名到2月23日截止。
  3. This week (2/2/14) PTA and Activity Department need parents' help to repair and make decorations for our New Year Festival. Please come help.  本週(2/2/14)家長會及活動組也需要家長幫忙修補及準備新年校慶裝飾配件，請各位家長前來幫忙。
  4. To encourage Chinese study, we provide awards to our students who have continuously studied Chinese for 6, 9, or 12 years. If your child qualifies, please obtain application form from your teacher. If the previous years of study were from another Chinese school, proper documentation must be submitted along with the application form. Application deadline is March 31.  本校為了鼓勵孩子們堅持不斷的學習中文，我們提供獎勵給連續就讀中文6年，9年，12年的學生，如果您的孩子符合條件，請向老師索取申請單。如果是轉校生，則必須提供外校就讀的證明，例如成績單，獎狀之類的文件證明，申請日期到3/31截止。
  5. This week (2/2/14), we have class picture make-up day as well as rehearsal for New Year programs, please try not to be absent. 本週(2/2/14)將補拍班級照及新年節目總彩排，請大家盡量不要缺席。
  6. Summer Camp Information is coming in, so far we have three of them posted on our announcement page, under the section “New Announcement from Principal's Office (1/14/14)”, you can access the link here.  夏令營的資料已漸漸進來了，目前已有三個公布在學校的＂announcement＂網頁上，在New Announcement from Principal's Office (1/14/14)底下，可以從這裡連接。
  7. There is a teacher training session on 2/16/14 from 8am to 5pm at Chapman University. If you are interested in becoming a teacher at SDCA, please contact Vice Principal Law to register.春季教學及行政人員研討會2/16/2014(星期日)上午8時至下午5時於Chapman University 舉行，有興趣加入中華學院教書行列的家長們，請與羅副校長聯絡。

**** PTA & Activities 家長會與活動 *****
  1. CNY Preparation. The school will have our Chinese New Year Celebration on February 9th. The Board, school, teachers, and room parents have started the preparation work. Please support your kids’ class and the school in preparation. If you have any ideas or suggestions for the CNY event or food/game booths, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you! 中國新年籌備計畫已經陸續展開了! 校方、理事會、老師們、以及班代表們都開心又忙碌地投入在這個活動當中，各位家長若想加入籌備活動，請和班代表們聯絡，幫助他們一起進行準備工作。 如果您對於新年活動,、食物、或遊戲攤位有任何想法，也請不吝和我們聯絡, 謝謝。
  2. CNY Decoration Workshop: The decoration team will do crafting together this Sunday. All room parents will get together in the office and we will also need volunteers to make booth decoration (signs, posters) for the festival this Sunday. Please join us at the office. 新年籌備活動樂趣多 -- 家長手工坊開始囉! 家長會將於本週日進行新年園遊會各攤位的海報製作和攤位佈置。家長會已準備妥大部份的材料及工具，請各班班媽和有時間的家長們帶著過年前辦年貨興奮的心情, 前來與我們團圓、交流、並合力完成各攤位及校園佈置用品。謝謝。
  3. CNY Carnival Ticket Pre-Sales, Great Deal!: We’ll have CNY carnival (food/game) ticket pre-sales ($20 for 25 tickets) and raffle ticket pre-sales ($5 for 6 tickets) in the office this week from 1:30 to 4:00pm. We have more than 30 booths and 30 raffle prizes in the carnival. Please come to the office to purchase the discount tickets. They will be $1 each on the day of the carnival. Don’t miss this early bird special deal!  新年籌備活動樂趣多 -- 一馬當先搶購園遊會票券與摸彩券囉!我們目前有超過30個園遊會攤位以及超過30份各種大獎(包括Google tablet). 我們將在本週日2/2 日下午一點半到四點在學校辦公室販售，25張園遊會票券只要20元，6張摸彩券只要5元，早買早賺到，祝您馬到成功，在活動當天勇奪大獎。 園遊會當天現場所販售的票劵都是一張一元唷，請把握預售的折價機會。
  4. Children’s Cultural Activities and Snack Store during 2nd recess. Your choice of snack plus a juice box for only $1. Please encourage your students to stop by and get some treats. Also come and play Jianzi with your friends and kids. 點心時間與兒童民俗體育活動持續展開! 第二節下課時，我們將有好玩的踢毽子與小點心販賣的活動，自選一樣點心加果汁只要一美元，歡迎您與您的孩子前來參與及購買。
  5. Parents Ninja Workout Club (NWC)  
The Chinese New Year is coming!  Let’s get up off the couch and get some exercise before eating tons of delicious food. Please contact Jerry if you are interested in any of the programs and come to the office at 1:40PM. 春節就快要到了,在享受年菜美食之前, 趕快站起來動一動和我們一起做點運動吧, 本週健人就是腳勤活動持續進行。有興趣者請與Jerry 聯絡，並在1:40PM至辦公室集合。

YEARBOOK credit class students and teacher’s assistants are invited to join our yearbook club to help create our 2013-2014 yearbook.  Yearbook club kickoff meeting will take place on Sunday February 2, 2014 from 12:30pm to 1pm in room US101 in the credit class area.  The yearbook team is starting to work on the yearbook, if you have good photos of school events to share, please contact our vice president/editor in chief Ms. Isabelle Yang.  所有學分班的學生以及助教們將加入我們的年刊小組，協助2013-2014年刊的製作。年刊小組首次會議將於下午2月2日12:30pm至1pm在學分班教室召開。理事會已開始著手編輯今年的年刊，如您手邊有學校活動的好照片願意分享，請與副理事長及總編輯曾梁菁女士 Isabelle Yang聯絡。

GOOD NEWS!!! In the CNY Carnival this year, parents can place your community, personal or business ad at center ticket booth side table. But please consider to do sponsorship to our school event with any amount (an easy way to do this is to purchase some raffle tickets).好消息!! 今年新年園遊會時, 如果您有任何廣告傳單(社區, 服務, 商業等)想要分享給學校家長, 我們歡迎家長將傳單統一放置在售票攤位旁的小桌子上, 但請考慮以任何金額贊助本校的新年活動(您可以買摸彩券的方式來贊助唷)。
