  1. Welcome to the new school year in SDCA! Please arrive school early (before 1:30PM) on the first day (09/15/13) to check out your new classroom. Parents please also bring check on 9/15 to purchase textbook.  This year we have Michelle Mitchell as Principal, and Show-Lin Law and Snow Wang as Vice-Principals. Please take a chance to get to know them and appreciate for their service. 歡迎回到SDCA。請家長於開學日提早帶子女到學校﹐以便有時間尋找新教室, 並請準備支票以購買教科書。今年我們的校長是陳玫秀女士, 副校長是羅秀琳及王如雪女士。請大家有機會認識她們並謝謝她們的服務。 
  1. Credit Class parents, please make sure you attend the very important Credit Class Parents’ Meeting from pm3:40 to 4:30, at the Community Hall this Sunday. 請學分班家長務必參加第一週的學分班說明會。校方將介紹學分班各項規定與教學規劃。時間 3:40-4:30pm,  地點在Community Hall。

  1. Students who need to take the placement test, please report to the office at 12:20 pm.  Placement test will start promptly at 12:30 pm.  Please bring pencils.若有預參加分班考試的學生，請攜帶鉛筆在下午12:20 到辦公室報到，所有考試將在12:30舉行。

  1. If you are a new family or if you have not received the newsletter in the mail, please check the “Parent Info” page on our website for first day of school related information. 如果您是新生家庭、或是您還沒收到我們以郵件方式寄出的校訊，請由我們網頁上的「Parent Info」選項裡，閱讀開學第一天的相關訊息，謝謝。
  2. On 9/15/2013, Registration/Scrip Sales/PTA booth will be held in or outside of the Administration Office. All up-to-date volunteer information will be posted there. Please stop by to check the latest volunteer job assignment of Year 2013-4. 開學當天，註冊組/禮券組/家長會都將在學校辦公室內或外面辦公, 最新的義工執勤表會張貼在那裡, 屆時請已經註冊的家長前來查看您2013-4義工工作分配。

***** Secretary/Ground Supervision 秘書組/校園巡邏 *****

  1. Important reminder for parking lot traffic 停車場使用的重要提醒:
  • Please watch your speed while driving in the parking lot. 進入停車場請放慢駕駛速度。
  • For you and our children’s safety, curbside right in front of the school building is for drop-off and pick-up only. Please park your car in the marked parking spaces.  Please do not park or wait by the curb. No Exception. Your cooperation is much appreciated.   為了您與孩子們的安全，提醒您請先把車停在停車格上, 再一同與孩子們前往教室。校方規劃的黃、白線區，僅提供學生上、下車使用，其餘時間， 請勿將您的車子停在此專用道，沒有例外。謝謝您的配合遵守，以做為孩子們的好榜樣。
  • Additional parking lot available at the rear of the school. 學校後側也設有停車場。 
  1. School Safety 校園安全
  • Please remind your children to respect all school property and rules. 請提醒您的子弟尊重愛護所有校園教室內外事物， 遵守學生守則。
  • Do not play or use elevator. Elevator is for teacher use only. 請勿使用或玩電梯。電梯僅供老師使用。

**** PTA & Activities 家長會與活動 *****

  1. 9/15/2013 Jamba Juice Fundraising during 2nd recess for $3 each.  
A good reward to the students and 20% back to school. 在9月15日當天第二節下課時間將有 Jamba Juice 的銷售活動, 小朋友不會餓也不會喊口渴了，每杯3元，這是一項不僅能獎勵學生同時又能為學校籌款的活動，校方將有20%的回饋，請大家支持。

  1. 9/15/2013 School Spirit: Support our school with the school spirit!  
SDCA logo T-shirt and string backpack are available at the PTA booth located at the outside courtyard of the school office.  Please stop by and get some for your students and yourself.  開學日當天，我們將在辦公室外庭院附設的PTA攤位上販售標有SDCA標誌的衣服和背包，請您與您的孩子前往購買，在新的學年度成為我們SDCA的一份子。

  1. Fun children recess programs and the activities for parents will be kicked off from October. Stay Tuned!! SDCA is a big family and has a super friendly environment. If you have time during the class in the first few weeks in September, please spend some time to help your kids in class and get to know the school staff and other parents in the school. 有趣的兒童民俗體育活動與家長會聯誼活動將於十月起跑唷,敬請期待!! 學校是一個很友善的大家庭, 如果您開學前幾週有空,請您留在學校協助您的子女學習, 也可以多和學校的工作人員及家長聊聊唷!

  1. Parent, please sign up for eScrips rewards!! If you grocery shop at Ralphs or Vons, you could be earning money for our school by simply registering your grocery card numbers online. The sooner you get your grocery cards registered, the more donation our school can use for the programs that benefit our kids.Here’s how to register online for each store:家長們請加入E-scrips 的回饋學校活動！如果您常在Ralphs 或 Vons購物的話，只要上網登記您的購物卡號碼就可以為我們學校募款。越早登記你的購物卡學校就得到越多捐款，對孩子的活動補助也愈多。以下是上網登記的方法:

  1. This year the Community Corner here also serves as a bulletin board which is open for all parents and staff in SDCA if you have anything wants to share with others in this big family.
