There are some scholarship opportunities available through SCCCS. Specific requirement must be met to apply. The information has been emailed to all the teachers and room parents to be forwarded to all parents. If your child met the requirement and would like to apply, please make to contact the office by April 26, 2015. Since the application will be submitted by the school, there is an internal school deadline of May 3rd, 2015 when all required application material must be supplied to the office so we can process your child's application. Parents Survey form has been sent home last week with the students. A soft copy has also been emailed to all room parents for distribution. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and return it in a sealed envelope to your room parents or to the office directly as soon as possible. We appreciate and value your feedback very much. This will help our school to improve. Last Coupon Day of This School Year

Next week (4/26/15) is the last Coupon Day of the school year. All coupons must be exchanged and cannot be used next year. Parents please remind your child to bring all coupons on that day. 下週(4/26/15)有本學年度最後一次的學生商店。今年的Coupon明年失效，所以請家長們要提醒貴子弟帶所有的禮券，到學校兌換獎品。

Pre-registration starts this week. Tuition has increased for the new school year but other fees are remained the same. We offer early registration discount $50 per student if you register by 5/31. Please review the Pre-registration Notes for more details. Here is the Registration Sign In link. Please register online at home. At the end of the registration process, print out the registration forms. Submit the form and payment to the office before summer. There will a vote on the bylaw changes and election of new board members from April 12 to April 18. The proposed bylaw changes are
- Increase the number of board directors from 7 to 9.
- Electronic means of communication can be used as notifications for meetings.
- Election ballot can be either the traditional paper ballot or electronic.
The purposes of those bylaw changes are to lesson the burden on board of directors, and cut unnecessary expenses so that more funds can be used for teaching.
When you vote online, your name and the name of your oldest child who goes to SDCA, will be logged. This will guarantee that each family can only cast one vote. You can go to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1g6qTNt7krR04yWgVJDCK7tHh-qNYSNGbLiKwt7jc0-k/viewform
to cast your vote online.
If you decide to cast your vote using paper ballot, you can get a ballot from school office. You can turn in your ballot to any of the board of directors, or you can turn in to the board through one of those room parents of your child’s class.
今年的理事會章程和新理事選舉將在四月十二日至四月十八日舉行。 理事會章程有以下修改提案：
一、理事會由七人增加到九人
二、可以使用電子方式通知家長開會

Volunteers Appreciation Party with karaoke. Party time, parents!! We will have our volunteer appreciation party this Sunday at 3:00pm outside of the community hall. All parents who has serve for our school are welcome to join in the fun. PTA will prepare yummy snacks and desert for the party as well as giving recognition to all the room parents and chairmen. SDCA Read-A-Thon continues. This fun Read-A-Thon event is to read 8 Chinese books in 29 days (from 3/29 to 4/26). The student will be granted 2 student store coupons if he/she finished reading 8 books or more. We’ll also choose the kids who read the most books to win some surprise grand prizes. So Parents: please assist your kids in selecting the appropriate books for their reading levels. Reading with your child(ren) is also a wonderful bonding opportunity. Go! Homework Helper 課業輔導:
Our homework help session will continue this Sunday after school from 4:40 - 5: 25 (45 minutes) at the office for kids who need additional help on their homework. Please sign up before the school starts at the office so that we can arrange the teachers for homework help. 5 session and 10 session punch cards will be sold at the office. Homework Helpers are intended to help kids on their assigned SDCA homework for that week and are not a private tutor to do other learning plans. 僑務委員會海外青年文化志工培訓班 開始接受網路報名
第四屆海外青年文化志工培訓班(FASCA)即將於美加地區8個城市巡迴開課，即日起開放網路報名，此活動為僑務委員會以北美地區華裔青少年為對象，「服務、文化、領導、傳承」為目標，期培養華裔青少年具文化內涵與領袖格局。
今年課程邀請許多實力派老師來營教學，內容豐富精彩，包括對母國文化的尋根課程，以及團隊組織帶領和行政規劃課程，加上同樣華裔背景的孩子同聚一堂，彼此學習交流，相信您的孩子一定會有個難忘的夏天。

報名方式及注意事項：
1.經錄取者所有培訓課程、活動皆需參加，不提供單一選擇。
2.培訓時數達全程的90%以上者，始可獲頒培訓結業證書。
3.保證金美金100(加幣100)元，需完成90%以上研習課程、培訓後至明年四月底前，須參與三項以上之後續培力計畫活動後，於明年5/1起統一退回。以上未達規定者，保證金將不予退還。
4.若因故無法參與研習，需於開課(含開課日)20日前提出申請，方可退回保證金。

A Comprehensive Training Program
The Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) is the first step in helping your teenager become a distinguished Asian American. During three days of training, they will learn through leadership, teamwork, community service, and cultural experiences and expand their worldview. Our program includes the four core values which are service, cultural appreciation, leadership, and legacy. Once training has been completed, your student can join FASCA and receive a unique opportunity to continue learning cultural courses and enhancing their leadership skills over the next 2 to 4 years. Through different development tracks, your child will become a more competitive applicant for colleges.
