Board Nomination Begins: The Board of Directors at SDCA is seeking four additional Board members.  We are actively taking applications for candidates to be elected to fill these vacancies.  You are cordially invited to be part of our team for the betterment of San Diego Chinese Academy. SDCA Read-A-Thon Started. This fun Read-A-Thon event is to read only 8 Chinese books in 29 days (from 3/29 to 4/26). The student will be granted 2 student store coupons if he/she finished reading 8 books or more. We’ll also select the ones who read the most books to win some surprise grand prizes. So Parents: please assist your kids in selecting the appropriate books for their reading levels.  Reading with your child(ren) is also a wonderful bonding opportunity. Go! 新書分享 --- 在中華學苑，不僅是同學們對中文感興趣， 我們也鼓勵家長們交流彼此對中文的熱愛和心得。最近有位中華學苑家長發表了一篇中文的網絡小說， 我們很高興介紹給大家。該小說描寫了一對生長在不同環境裡的年輕華裔男女由相識到相戀的心路歷程， 發表在中國最大網絡寫作平台晉江文學城 jjwxc.net (該網站有多部作品如步步驚心， 戰長沙， 何以笙簫默等已被改編成熱播劇)。 該網站還具有自動繁簡體轉換功能，您只要按網頁上方的 "繁體字" 或 "简体字" 鈕就可以了。

104年僑務委員會 海外青年文化志工培訓班(FASCA)招生  - English description follows

『領袖大格局  文化大觀園』

僑務委員會海外青年文化志工培訓班  開始接受網路報名

第四屆海外青年文化志工培訓班(FASCA)即將於美加地區8個城市巡迴開課，即日起開放網路報名，此活動為僑務委員會以北美地區華裔青少年為對象，「服務、文化、領導、傳承」為目標，期培養華裔青少年具文化內涵與領袖格局。

今年課程邀請許多實力派老師來營教學，內容豐富精彩，包括對母國文化的尋根課程，以及團隊組織帶領和行政規劃課程，加上同樣華裔背景的孩子同聚一堂，彼此學習交流，相信您的孩子一定會有個難忘的夏天。

每位學員培訓結業後，即具有加入海外青年文化大使組織(FASCA)資格，並可參與僑委會所提供之多元學習機會。當學員服務時數累積超過100小時，將可申請「美國總統志工服務獎」(加拿大地區暫無)，使其在申請大學時比一般青年更具競爭優勢。

報名方式及注意事項：

1.經錄取者所有培訓課程、活動皆需參加，不提供單一選擇。

2.培訓時數達全程的90%以上者，始可獲頒培訓結業證書。

3.保證金美金100(加幣100)元，需完成90%以上研習課程、培訓後至明年四月底前，須參與三項以上之後續培力計畫活動後，於明年5/1起統一退回。以上未達規定者，保證金將不予退還。

4.若因故無法參與研習，需於開課(含開課日)20日前提出申請，方可退回保證金。

A Comprehensive Training Program

The Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors (FASCA) is the first step in helping your teenager become a distinguished Asian American. During three days of training, they will learn through leadership, teamwork, community service, and cultural experiences and expand their worldview. And our program include the 4 core value which is service, cultural, leadership, and legacy. Once training has been completed, your student can join FASCA and receive a unique opportunity to continue learning about cultural courses and enhancing their leadership skills over the next 2 to 4 years. Through different development track, your child will become a more competitive applicant for colleges.
