- Parents Survey form went home this week, please take a few minutes to fill it out and return it in a sealed envelope to your room parents next week. We appreciate your feedback very much. This will help our school to improve. Thank you for your cooperation and support. 今年的家長問卷調查本週會發給學生們帶回家,懇請所有家長花幾分鐘的時間幫我們填這份問卷,填完後放在信封裡交給班爸班媽。沒有家長們的支持,學校就沒辦法成長,我們的大家庭需要大家一起來經營,謝謝您的支持與合作!
- Pre-registration is coming up. Please review the 2014-2015 Registration Notice & Online Registration FAQ. For the next school year, the Miscellaneous Fees increases to $50 and the Service Fee is $80. Tuition and other fees remain the same. Pre-registration starts on 4/13. In order to waive the registration fee, we have to receive your registration form and payment postmarked by 5/31. Please sign in to the SDCA Portal to begin your registration process. If you have forgotten your login details, use the links on the sign in page to look up your username or to reset your password. Please register online at home. At the end of registration process, print out your registration form. Submit your form and payment to the office or mail them to us. - We are offering two $75 Essay Contest Scholarship for our credit class students currently enrolled in high school and have been attending SDCA for the last 3 years. Minimum of 150 word essay in Chinese on the following topic and a short interview will be used to determine the recipient of the scholarships. Essay Topic: What can I do to contribute to the learning of Chinese language and culture? - 2014 VIRGINIA HOM FUNG MEMORIAL/YOUTH CHINESE LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP: The House of China (HOC) has awarded scholarships each year to SD County youths, 18 years of age or younger, currently enrolled in Chinese Schools in SD. There are three groups: beginning, intermediate and advanced, based on recommendations by teachers. Essays shall be submitted in hand-written Chinese. Please contact your teacher for more details. 紀念馮譚珍貴女士2014年中國館中文獎學金: 聖地牙哥中國館每年春季提供獎學金給就讀本市中文學校的學生，以鼓勵十八歲以下青少年學習中文。獎學金分為初級組、中級組，和高級組三組。組別由老師推薦，最後由評委會評定。每組得獎名額三位,請家長們鼓勵貴子弟報名參加，詳情與班級老師聯絡。

1. All Parents Meeting/Room Parents Meeting (4/6 1:30pm to 2pm): We’ll have our last all parents / room parents meeting this Sunday at Community Hall. We’ll quickly announce/discuss, pre-registration, year end party, volunteer appreciation party, and teacher appreciation dinner. Please be sure to join this important meeting. 中華學苑家長大會/班代表大會(4/6 1:30-2:00pm):本週將是我們今年最後一次正式的家長大會/班代表大會，我們將會以飛快的速度公佈與討論預註冊、班級期末同樂會、義工同樂會、與謝師宴。親愛的班代表與家長請別錯過這個重要的會議唷。
2. Board Election: The Board Election ballots have been mailed to you. Please bring your filled ballots to the school community hall at 1:30 on Sunday 4/6/2014. You can also mail it back to SDCA PO Box or email directly to SDCA President. We encourage your participation as the future of your children’s chinese education depends upon it. 3. SDCA Read-A-Thon Conclude. The fun Read-A-Thon event will conclude this Sunday. Please tell your kids to come to the office at 1st or 2nd recess time to redeem their student store coupons with their reading log forms. The student will be granted 3 or 1 coupons if they read 8 or 4 Chinese books, respectively. We’ll also select the top five students who read the most books to win some surprise grand prizes.Thank you for your participation and support. 中華學苑 - 有趣的『閱讀馬拉松』將於本週日4/6正式圓滿結束! 只要孩子讀完8本中文書，就可以得到3張學生商店coupons, 讀完4本中文書也可以換1張唷 。另外，讀最多本書的前5名學生可以得到神秘禮物卡, 記得告訴您的孩子於本週第一節或第二節下課來辦公室以紀綠表換取! 謝謝大家的支持與配合!
4. Big Success on Chinese Poetry Contest. The record-breaking (more than 170 participants) Chinese Poetry Contest was really a big success. PTA would like to congratulate all the students who participated and thank the parents, teachers, and volunteers who supported the event. Every participating student is a winner since we believe the entire preparation process is more important than winning a trophy for the kid. The school year will come to the end soon. This week we will have the Chinese characters recognition contest. Keep up the good work, SDCA! 詩詞朗誦比賽大成功。家長會特別要恭喜參加的學生們, 同時也要感謝所有的老師, 家長, 義工們，因為你們的努力才讓我們超過170位學生參加的詩詞朗誦比賽，上週可以圓滿結束了。因為整個準備的過程比比賽的結果重要，每位參加的學生都很有收獲都很了不起, 學期快要結束囉! 本週還有認字比賽,所以大家請繼續加油吧!
5. Children’s Cultural Activities and Snack Store during 2nd recess. Your choice of snack plus a juice box for only $1. Please encourage your students to stop by and get some treats.
