2017-2018 SDCA Yearbook Cover Art Contest

Guidelines

General Information
     ● This is an annual event to enrich campus activities and provide a channel for our students to show their artistic talents
     ● The winning entry will be used as the Yearbook cover art for the current school year. All other entries will be used to enhance the Yearbook.

Theme
     ● My Chinese School ( 我的中文學校)

Submission
     ● Art work must be two-dimensional, no matting is needed.
     ● An artwork entry must be the original work completed solely by one student. Parents may not help in creating the artwork.
     ● Do NOT write your personal information on the front of the art work. On the back, please write in pencil the following information: student name, student age, class #, teacher’s name, parent name, and parent contact (phone number and / or e-mail).
     ● If your artwork exceeds the size of 8.5 x 11, please provide a scanned soft copy of the art work along with the original.
     ● Each student may submit one artwork entry.

Deadline
     ● Feb 4, 2018

Judging
     ● To encourage participation only the students who had not won the Cover Art Contest will be considered for judging. For example, if a student had won the Cover Art Contest in a previous year, then his/her current year entry will not be considered for the contest but will be included in the Yearbook.
     ● The Board of Directors will be invited to judge the art works. Blind judging will be enforced (judges will not be shown the students’ name and other personal information except age – see below for detail).
     ● Because this contest does not have age divisions, we would like to encourage our youngest students to participate. Age will be a judging criterion and will be the only information about the student that will be disclosed to the judges. For example, an artwork entry by a six year old participant who exhibits above age level artistic skills will be ranked ahead of an older participant who has not demonstrated age appropriate artistic skills.

Awards
     ● All participants will earn an award.
     ● The contest winner will earn a nicer award and name recognition.
     ● All entries (1 per student) will be included in current issue of the Yearbook.
