There will be no school on 2/15/15 due to teacher's spring training. We will celebrate Chinese New Year on 2/22/15. 2/15/15老師們去春季教師研習會，學校放假，2/22再回來慶祝校慶及農曆新年。

Chinese New Year and 27th Anniversary Celebration

Next week (2/22/15) we will celebrate our school's 27th anniversary and Chinese New Year, the event will take place outdoors. Please put sunscreen on your children or provide them with a hat and water. Students don't need to bring a backpack that day, we will not be using the classrooms. Parents, please bring your children 10 minutes early at 1:20 PM to the classroom. Teachers will be taking the students to the amphitheater at 1:30 pm promptly. If you are late, please go directly to the assigned seating area at the amphitheater to meet your teacher. Please be on time so we can start the performance on time, which will also help us to start our carnival on time. Please stay until the end of the performance, the carnival will start after that.

下週(2/22/15)慶祝校慶及農曆新年會在室外舉行，請家長們記得幫孩子們擦防曬油或給孩子們準備帽子及水。學生們不需要帶書包，當天我們不使用教室。請家長提早10分鐘在1點20分送孩子們到教室去，老師會點名，帶學生們去露天劇場就席。如果您來遲了，請直接帶您的孩子到露天劇場各班指定就位區找老師。請大家一定要準時到，節目才能準時開始，園遊會也才能準時開始。請家長不要在節目表演完前把學生帶走，園遊會是節目表演完後才開始。

2015 VIRGINIA HOM FUNG MEMORIAL/YOUTH CHINESE LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP: The House of China (HOC) has scholarship opportunity each year for SD County youths, 18 years of age or younger, currently enrolled in Chinese Schools in SD. There are three groups: beginning, intermediate and advanced, based on recommendations by teachers. Essays shall be submitted in hand-written Chinese. Please contact your teacher for more detail.

紀念馮譚珍貴女士2015年中國館中文獎學金: 聖地牙哥中國館每年春季提供獎學金給就讀本市中文學校的學生，以鼓勵十八歲以下青少年學習中文。獎學金分為初級組、中級組，和高級組三組。組別由老師推薦，最後由評委會評定。每組得獎名額三位,請家長們鼓勵貴子弟報名參加，詳情與班級老師聯絡。

As we have announced at the beginning of this year, LJCDS has a recycling policy starting this year. There are tall recycle bins labeled “Adopt-A-Bin” with laminated signs attached to them containing instructions regarding bin use (i.e. what does & does not go into them). Please use these bins correctly to help protect our planet. Also, there’s an effort being made to reduce the number of plastic water bottles on the campus. We encourage everyone to bring reusable water containers to school. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. 大家好。剛開學時，我們就已宣佈了一項地主學校(LJCDS)今年開始實施的新的回收政策。在校園内，大家可以看到寫著” Adopt-A-Bin ”的回收桶。請注意上面附的詳細説明來使用這些回收桶。（像是哪些東西可以放進去，哪些不行）。請大家正確並確實的使用這些回收桶，共同努力保護我們的地球。同時，為有效推廣在校園内減少瓶裝水的使用，我們鼓勵大家自己帶水壺上學，這也是一個幫助地球的好方法。謝謝大家的合作與協助。

CNY Carnival Ticket Pre-Sales, Great Deal!: We’ll have CNY carnival (food/game) ticket pre-sales ($20 for 25 tickets) and raffle ticket pre-sales ($5 for 6 tickets) in the office this week. We have more than 20 booths and 15 raffle prizes including kindle fire and fitbit at the carnival. Please come to the office to purchase the discount tickets. They will be $1 each on the day of the carnival. Don’t miss this early bird special deal! Homework Helper 課業輔導:

Our homework help session will continue this Sunday after school from 4:40 - 5: 25 (45 minutes) at the office for kids who need additional help on their homework. 5 session and 10 session punch cards will be sold at the office. Homework Helpers are intended to help kids on their assigned SDCA homework for that week, not a private tutor to do other learning plans. It would be very helpful if you could let the teacher know if you would be coming again the following week. 課業輔導這周將繼續在辦公室開課, 讓有需要幫忙的家長, 如果自己沒有時間或是沒有辦法教小朋友功課, 需要老師的輔助, 我們在下課後 4:40 到 5:25 上課. 採用 punch card 制度, 有興趣的家長可以到辦公室來詢問報名. 如果再接下來的週日你也會到, 請轉告我們的老師. 謝謝!!
