1. We sadly announce that our ex-kindergarten teacher, Ling-Chu Chou, passed away Monday afternoon due to a stroke. She had been teaching in SDCA since 1995 and was loved by many of her students and parents. 2. PTA will hold a Disaster Preparedness Seminar on 10/16/2011 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Community Hall. This is part of our community service to help SDCA families prepare for disasters. 3. During last Sunday’s PTA meetings, we mentioned that we plan to hold 4 seminars this year. We still have 2 seminars undecided. If you have good topics in mind and would like to share with other SDCA parents, please email sdcapta@gmail.com . 2. Yearbook Cover Art Contest -- All SDCA students are encouraged to participate. One art work will be selected for the Yearbook cover. All other submitted entries will be used throughout the Yearbook. Deadline for submitting entries is December 11. Please submit art work entries to Parent Lounge Duty volunteer. 2. Tai Chi class will start on October 23, 2011 from 3:30 to 4:30pm. The 10 week session will run from October 23, 2011 to January 22, 2012. This class will be taught by Master Henry Cheng. Master Henry has been teaching and conducting seminars in the San Diego community since 1980 and received the Asian Heritage Awards in 2007 in the category of Medicine and Health. We are honored to have him teaching our Tai Chi classes. Please register with the front office prior to class on October 23, 2011 (click http://www.sandiegochineseschool.com/new/Tai-Chi%20class%20registration%20form_2011.pdf for registration form). We need a minimum of 8 participants to start the class. Registration fee is $150 for 10 classes. Each additional family member receives 15% discount.
