- Our first PTA seminar is coming up on the 9th of November. We are honored to have Dr. Liu again to share more parenting tips with us. - Dear parents, please remind your child(ren) not to run in the classroom, especially not to go in and out of someone else's classroom. This will disrupt the other class and might inadvertently damage items in the classroom as well. Please ask your child(ren) to respect the rules and properties of the school. 親愛的家長們,請您提醒您的孩子，不得在教室内奔跑，尤其不得隨意跑進跑出別班的教室。因爲這樣除了會影響別人上課之外，還有可能會在奔跑中不小心破壞了地主學校教室裏的物品。請孩子們一定要確實遵守，認真看待學校的規定。
- LJCDS has installed an automatic gate at the exit of the parking lot. Although the gate remains closed, it will open as you approach it slowly, so please exit through the exit gate, not the entrance gate. 地主學校特別通知:停車場的出口安裝了自動鐵門,雖然看起來是關著的,但只要您把車開近它就會自動打開,請大家不要從入口離開。
- We would like to ask parents to please pick up your child(ren) promptly after school and leave the classroom so that the janitor can begin to clean. There is only one janitor and he alone must clean more than 30 classrooms by 6 PM. This is a difficult task and we ask for the parents’ support and cooperation in this. If you need to speak to the teacher, we welcome you and your teacher to come use the office. Book Fair 開卷有益讀書坊
Come get your student coupon with a gently used Chinese children’s book!! Our first SDCA book fair will begin on 11/16. Part of the book fair will be a book exchange and we will start collecting gently used books this Sunday until the date of the fair. Please bring Chinese children books to the office for book tickets that will be used to trade books at our fair. Any student who has brought in at least one book will get a student store coupon. We encourage all of you to participate and expose our children to more Chinese books! 開卷有益讀書坊在 11/16 要開張囉~ 我們的讀書坊其中一部分是舊書交換, 請各位家長在家中翻翻找找, 看有沒有已經看了很多次的中文童書 (Gently used). 可以拿出來交換, 我們從這個星期日開始收集中文書籍, 請將你想交換的書籍帶到辦公室來兌換成換書卷, 以便 Book Fair 當天換書~~ 我們也接受書籍捐贈 只要帶一本書以上的同學, 都可領取一張學生商店貼紙喔~ 請大家踴躍參加, 讓我們的小朋友能接觸到更多的中文書籍!!
Homework Helper 課業輔導:
Our homework help session will start this Sunday after school from 4:40 - 5: 25 (45 minutes) for kids who need additional help on their homework. 5 session and 10 session punch cards will be sold at the office. Homework Helpers are intended to help kids on their assigned SDCA homework for that week, not a private tutor to do other learning plans. 課業輔導將於這周開始, 讓有需要幫忙的家長, 如果自己沒有時間或是沒有辦法教小朋友功課, 需要老師的輔助, 我們再下課後 4:40 到 5:25 提供團體輔助. 採用 punch card 制度, 有興趣的家長可以到辦公室來詢問報名.
Ninja Workout Club (NWC) 健人就是腳勤俱樂部
We will continue our weekly workout programs - aerobics, volleyball, cycling, and tennis. We encourage all teams to meet at 1:45 at the amphitheater and do at least 15 minutes of aerobics to warm up. Please be aware that baseball practice will be cancelled in the upcoming weeks due to the maintenance of the field. But at the same time the new team, VOLLEYBALL, will start this week. So don’t waste this opportunity and come join any of the teams now. Please contact Jerry if you are interested.
"健人就是腳勤"這週將繼續進行以下的運動 - 有氧運動、排球、自行車、網球。我們鼓勵所有的運動家長們於1:45PM先至amphitheater 集合, 跟大家一起做至少15分鐘的有氧運動當做熱身。請注意本週起棒球隊因場地保養暫停練習數週，但同一時間我們試辦排球隊，請有興趣的爸爸媽媽們一起來參加。請大家不要浪費這個大好機會，與其在那滑手機、聊天，不如跟我們一起來運動。有興趣參加任何team的家長請與Jerry 聯絡。

Your choice of snack plus a juice box for only $1. Please encourage your students to stop by and get some treats. Also come and play Chinese Yoyo with your friends and kids. 點心時間與下課文化體驗持續展開! 第二節下課時，我們將有好玩的扯鈴與小點心販賣的活動，自選一樣點心加果汁或牛奶只要一美元，歡迎您與您的孩子前來參與及購買。
Massage monthly service starting 11/9/2014 消除疲勞，振作精神按摩服務:
After all the homework you’ve helped with your kids, you must be tired coming to school! A brand new service will start 11/9 to help with your bottled up stress and soothe your muscles. Michelle Good, a professional massage therapist, has graciously offered her service here for our parents and teachers. Even though we just posted the news here for the first time, there are parents already lined up. Michelle provides her massages at a reasonable price. We’re looking forward to it. 當您辛苦陪孩子做中文作業，準備小考，再帶了孩子來上中文學校，您一定累了吧？中華學苑將在11月9號邀請 能夠扭轉乾坤的Michelle Good 來學校提供按摩服務。雖然現在才公佈這個消息，已有家長聞風而來，拿了號碼牌排隊！這項服務收費便宜，卻能消除您的疲勞，振作精神，繼續為孩子的中文教育再接再厲！敬請期待！

僑委會為增進海外華裔青(少)年華語文能力，認識傳統中華文化與臺灣多元文化，瞭解中華民國進步發展現況，並促進海內外青年互動交流，將持續辦理「2015年海外華裔青年語文研習班」。該研習班將開辦7期個別班，凡年滿14足歲至未滿24歲(以護照所載出生日期為憑)，目前居住於海外，身心健康、學行良好、有高度學習華語文意願，並能適應團體生活之華裔青(少)年均可報名參加。
November 4th is the Gubernatorial General Election. If you haven’t received any voting materials, you may check your voter’s information here: http://www2.sdcounty.ca.gov/rov/Eng/Eeverything_query.asp to make sure your status is active for this Election. By the California Election Code, 15 days before the Election is the deadline to register to vote, which is the Monday of Oct 20th 2014. Please help informing the community about the deadline if they may need to re-register because of moving to a new residential address, changing names, party preference or changing signature. They can register online http://registertovote.ca.gov/zh/ One important note when registering online, there is an option to choose for Language preference. Please mark Chinese as your preferred language so that we can serve you better. Our program needs your support to grow, please request for Chinese voting materials.
